THE WEIGHTS OF ANTS

THE WEIGHT OF ANTS
Jeanne and Olivier's school is a nightmare. The demotivated principal couldn't care less that the institution is among the top ten worst in the country. When he installs body-shaming shampoo ads in the restrooms, harassing the young people with "perfect bodies," Jeanne becomes an activist. Olivier, on the other hand, is tormented by constant worries: the climate crisis, corruption, nuclear war, and basically anything that can induce fear. At the school council election, the two, despite initial skepticism, become increasingly enthusiastic about the idea of actively shaping their own destinies and those of their classmates. But when Mike's campaign promise of "Pizza for everyone!" makes their chances of winning seem remote, the unlikely duo join forces. Because: The ants of the world weigh more than all the people combined. Be strong together!
David Paquet's text combines profound world-weariness and unabashed humor to create an incomparable blend. "The Weight of Ants" is an angry yet life-affirming teen comedy that roars loudly and wittily against the disinterest and callousness of the adult world.

WORK
As the Lead Video Artist on this production, I utilized AI, animation software, and video production and editing techniques to create a series of images and videos reflecting the visual language familiar to today’s youth. A particular emphasis was placed on recreating contemporary social media aesthetics and trends, resulting in a visually engaging experience that resonated with a teen audience.
